There are a lot of things to do in your first year, and this list will help you keep track of some important steps.

Partnership Agreement

PathwayOregon is committed to work in partnership with you to support your path to graduation. This agreement outlines how you will work with an advisor, create a graduation plan, and make progress toward earning your degree each year.

First Year

 

  • Meet with an academic advisor fall, winter, and spring terms
  • Meet at least once with a PathwayOregon advisor
  • Make progress toward general education requirements:
    • Complete one writing course (WR 121, WR 122/123)
    • Complete four areas of inquiry classes (Arts & Letters, Social Science, Science)
  • Begin coursework in either Math (Bachelor of Science) or Foreign Language (Bachelor of Arts)
  • Complete coursework in declared major or major(s) of interest
  • Earn 45 total credits to reach Sophomore class standing
  • Explore and set college-to-career goals

Second Year

 

  • Meet with an academic advisor:
  • Make progress toward general education requirements:
    • Complete writing requirement (WR 121 & WR 122/123)
    • Complete four additional areas of inquiry classes (AL, SSC, SCI)
    • Continue Math & Foreign Language (B.A./B.S.)
  • Begin 12 credits of upper-division (300- or 400-level) coursework
  • Earn 90 total credits to reach Junior class standing
  • Identify and prepare for career engagement activity

Third Year

 

  • Meet with a major advisor to complete a graduation plan, including:
  • Earn 36 credits upper-division (300- or 400-level) coursework
  • Earn 135 total credits to reach Senior class standing
  • Complete at least one career engagement activity

Fourth Year

 

  • Meet with a major advisor to confirm remaining major requirements
  • Earn 180 total credits and 62 upper-division credits to be eligible to graduate
  • Complete the “Apply for Undergraduate Degree” form on DuckWeb
  • Plan for college-to-career transition
